Dear Friend, A lit file can be read by Microsoft Reader. However, it is inaccessible with JAWS.
I have a program called ABC Amber Lit converter. This program converts the lit files into RTF files which can be read with JAWS. I am not sure about whether it will convert to txt or not. If you want the converter program, I can send it to you off list.
