For the kind information of those insisting that this group is only for 'technology-related-discussion', BPO's in Bangalore today spend a lot of their time overseeing protection of their women employees, because one woman was brutally raped and killed last year by a cab driver and they don't want that to happen again.
Though technology is the thrust area of this group, we can't play down the importance of individual safety. Another example that I learnt today is JAN or Job Accessibility Network in the US, who facilitate accessible work environment for persons with disability in the US, spend a great deal of time instructing clients as to how they can evacuate disabledemployees in times of emergency. Now, is it fair for JAN to say, "we can discuss only work places adjustments and evacuation is out of our services?"
