It is certainly possible. However various universities have their own rules.
For example IGNOU has an option for those who have not studied maths, that they have to go through a 1 year parallel course named PPC, (I do not remember it's full form now). It also requires another course prior to MCA which is for 6 months, but it actually adds one year due to exam results and other formalities. There are still other universities who have 2 year master degree programs, and they except any one year computer course from NIIT and other such institudes. and institudes like NIIT are also nodal agencies for these degree programs.
