I want you to download and install the JAWS 8 demo software and see if the issue occurs here. Once you do this, relaunch JAWS 7.10 and see if the issue still exist. It's possible JAWS 8 will update the necessary files to allow JAWS 7.10 to work properly. JAWS 8 demo can be obtained from: Free DEMO of JAWS 8.0 for Windows XP/2000 (50 MB - FTP download) ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/JAWS/J8.0.422U_Demo.exe Be sure to include all previous correspondence pertaining to this matter when replying to this message so that we might better assist you. It looked like the problem being rectified for a day or two, but it started appearing again. In fact I even took the riskier step of disabling the antivirus software, but without any success. However I have found a temporary solution though. Each time when the problem occurs, I just unload the JAWS and reload it and it works fine for a while. However I am wondering how to resolve this permanently. Thanks. It's possible a file didn't get updated or a possible corrupt file. However, if the issue occurs again, feel free to email us back. I encountered the following issue while working with Microsoft word 2003: JAWS will not read my word documents properly when I try to navigate by line and instead it will say "blank". It will also announce "space" while attempting to remove a word by pressing control+back space". I tried following the recommended settings for Office 2003 found on the freedom scientific page, but it did not rectify my problem. So eventually I had to uninstall and reinstall JAWS to solve this problem. Now my question is: I followed the same procedures on both the occasions to install JAWS on my new machine. But just wondering what could have gone wrong first time that could have caused JAWS to speak the MS word screen improperly. Can I do anything technically in future to prevent this from happening? Thanks in advance for your reply.
