Hello friend,

If the outstation cheque is issued by the bank branch situated in state
capital, maximum time limit for collection is 10 days. In case of other than
state capital, maximum time limit is 14 days. In case of north eastern
cities, it is 14 days, even of state capital. Beyond this stipulated time
limit, bank will pay interest at the rate of 18% per annum.

With good wishes.

S S Pathak
