Not to be confused with Mexican Independence Day (which is September 16,
of course), Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico's victory over the French
occupational forces of Napoleon III at the Battle of Puebla. Everybody knows
that, right?
Largely overlooked in Mexico proper, the holiday has become a major party
north of the border. It's like Saint Patrick's Day for the Irish, but with much
better food in my opinion (carnitas over corned beef). Celebrate Cinco de Mayo
in style with a collection of Mexican-themed downloads.
