Hi, Just go to your JAWS window by pressing alt plus tab or insert + J if you have JAWS running from the system tray. Then do alt plus U to go to the utilities menu and come down to configuration manager and activate it. Otherwise, you can use insert + F2 to open the JAWS manager list and activate configuration manager from there. If using the insert + F2 JAWS manager list command, the configuration manager that opens will be of the application that is in the background at the time. So, to go to the default configuration manager just press control + shift + D staying in the application specific configuration manager. Once the default configuration manager window is opened, press alt + S to go to the set options menu. Then, come down to the user options... and activate it. In this, tab and come to the radio buttons for typing echo and select typing echo off radio button.
For your problem of JAWS reading some sentenses in high pitch, go into the set options menu and into text processing. Here tab and come to the combo box for indicate caps and see if it is at the default option of indicate caps when reading by character. If JAWS is reading sentenses in high pitch while reading by the say all command then in the same set options menu go into the say all option and look for the indicate caps check box and uncheck it . Hope it helps.
