Hi,

What kinds of documents are you scanning? if the document is of poor
quality, then OCR will not be effective. Are you configuring your scanner
and OCR settings correctly for the different kinds of documents that you are
scanning? I ask since modern OCR technology gives good performance. I have
got about 99% accuracy in most cases.

Subject: [AI] Scanning Documents

Hi Friends,
The most common way of reading hard copies practised by the V.I's is
to convert them into soft ones by scanning that document. the problem
faced by most people is the poor performance of the OCR, be it that of
the Windows or of Kurzweil. even I am facing this problem and so I
prefer recordings of the books to scanning. Could anyone please come
in with a solution which can solve the poor performance of OCR of
Windows and Kurzweil.
Regards,
Abdul
