Excel provides numerous functions, Formulae can be written combining several of them. Kindly mention if you are specifically looking for some calculation. The "Insert Function" dialog box provides great help about selected function in the list, it can be opened by Pressing INSERT+I followed by F and has following fields:
1. Search for a function Edit box: If you know the Excel function name then key it in here for quick search. 2. Go button: Activate this button if a known function name is keyed in the above edit box. 3. Select a Category Combo box: Lists various categories to select from. 4. Select a Function List box: Lists functions meeting specified value in 'Search for a Function' edit box after hitting the Go button or from the selected category from the 'Select a Category' combo box. 5. Help link for the selected function in the 'Select a Function' list box, activate the link to know about the selected function. 6. OK button: Activating this button inserts the selected function in the cell. If the selected function requires parameters then activating this button opens the Parameters dialog box for the selected function. 7. Cancel button: self-explanatory. hth...
