GET RID OF GIRLFRIEND Senior inspector Rajendra Kathavate (GRP, Kalyan) says, "I heard all of them. It was a very confusing case. The two women claimed to be his wives and accused him of cheating on them. Yet, they did not want him to be sent to prison on charges of bigamy. All they wanted was that we separate him from his girlfriend." He makes a living vending goods at railway stations. Police have sent Vidhan's girlfriend to the state-run Women's Welfare Centre, Ulhasnagar The GRP let Vidhan off with a warning against straying. As for his girlfriend, she was sent to the state-run Women's Welfare Centre at Ulhasnagar. "Since Reena has no family here, we sent her to the women's welfare centre," says Kathavate. Vidhan is back with his first wife Maimoon, but can't stop talking about his girlfriend. "Why are they punishing her? Ideally, they should be punishing me and not her," he told Mumbai Mirror.
