Hmm, what a strange love affair, this would beat any bollywood script in
terms of its sensation.

Two wives of blind man cut girlfriend out of the
picture

Catch up with the alleged lovebirds at Ambarnath
station and thrash the man

Yogesh Sadhwani

Vidhan Paul is blind and is married to two women who
cannot stand each other. But when the two women, one
of whom is blind, came to know that Vidhan had
a girlfriend and was planning to elope with her, they
got together to foil his plans and get rid of the
third woman. They caught up with him and his
girlfriend
at Ambarnath station on Tuesday night and beat him up
before asking the Government Railway Police (GRP) to
drill some sense into his head.

Vidhan Paul is married to two women who cannot stand
each other. The wives live in different houses in
Ambarnath. Vidhan stays with the first wife.

THE QUADRANGLE

Vidhan is married to Maimoon who is blind and Bina. He
has two daughters - Priyanka, 6, and Ashmita, 2 - from
Maimoon but no children from Bina. The two
wives stay in different houses. Vidhan makes a living
vending goods at railway stations.

Maimoon and Bina have no idea how Vidhan got
acquainted with Reena Roy, his girlfriend from West
Bengal, who is undertaking a vocational training
course
at a technical institute in Pune. But on Tuesday, they
came to know through their well-wishers that she was
in Ambarnath for a month-long break.

Maimoon says, "We came to know that he was planning to
leave the city with his girlfriend. So we rushed to
the station and apprehended them."

Apparently, the duo beat him up before taking him to
the GRP.

"We took him to the GRP because he kept abusing us,"
says Maimoon.

The GRP is baffled by the nature of the case.

GET RID OF GIRLFRIEND

Senior inspector Rajendra Kathavate (GRP, Kalyan)
says, "I heard all of them. It was a very confusing
case. The two women claimed to be his wives and
accused
him of cheating on them. Yet, they did not want him to
be sent to prison on charges of bigamy. All they
wanted was that we separate him from his girlfriend."

He makes a living vending goods at railway stations.
Police have sent Vidhan's girlfriend to the state-run
Women's Welfare Centre, Ulhasnagar
The GRP let Vidhan off with a warning against
straying. As for his girlfriend, she was sent to the
state-run Women's Welfare Centre at Ulhasnagar.

"Since Reena has no family here, we sent her to the
women's welfare centre," says Kathavate.

Vidhan is back with his first wife Maimoon, but can't
stop talking about his girlfriend. "Why are they
punishing her? Ideally, they should be punishing
me and not her," he told Mumbai Mirror.

As for his wives, they just want him to stop straying.
