i sent the following mail to sbi. gajendra vyas ----- Original Message ----- From: Vyas Gajendra To: a g m s b i complaint Cc: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, December 19, 2015 11:25 AM Subject: captchha in net banking
here is gajendra vyas holding accounts with sbi. my account no. is 10307665590 . i am a blind person . we thousands of blind customers use net banking with help of screen reader . now captchha is introduced in log in ,that makes net banking impossible for the blind . actually captchha is to prevent machine operation , but in net banking nothing can be performed with machine . till to day no fraud happened without captchha , and captchha is no surity of safety .it will compel blind customers to look for other accessible net banking available in the market . So, we call upon you to keep your internet banking which is one of the most accessible products in the industry, as such, and introduce an alternative arrangement for the blind customers. It would also comply with WCAG2 guidelines for accessibility. OTP is the most suitable alternative, I think, as the mobile number of the customer is already registered with SBI and OTP is already generated for post log in transactions. So, providing OTP after keying in username and password by the blind customer would take care of accessibility. IRCTC, indian railway's ticket booking site is already doing authentication by OTP in case of blind users. Please do take urgent and immediate steps in this directions as by keeping blind customers out of its internet banking, SBI is violating not only their fundamental rights but is also militating against financial inclusion. Hope to see results soon. gajendra vyas phone : 079-30127030 mobile : 9427065866 --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
