Mumbai: A 23-year old blind student, who also works part-time, has alleged
that she was molested by an unknown man while she was on a train to Andheri
on Tuesday. She said nobody came to her rescue.

The woman, in her complaint to the Bandra GRP, said: "Around 1.40 pm, when I
was waiting for a Borivli local at Khar station, an unknown man tried to
strike a conversation with me. He proposed to me and said 'I love you'. I
made it clear to t I was not interested in talking to him."

When the woman was about to board the train, the person told her that the
coach for handicapped people was slightly ahead. She told the police: "The
person accompanied me to the coach and sat very to close to me and began to
hold my hand. The person said his name was Amit. He asked me about my father
and insisted that he wants to marry me. Since he continued to pester, I
lifted my cane and began hitting him."

She told the police that as soon as the train entered the platform at
Andheri station, the man alighted and escaped. The girl later realised that
she had been taken to the vendors coach.
