Dear all, AS many of you are aware that, Life Insurance corporation of India has advertised 700 vacancies for the post of administrative Officer out of which 11 seats are reserved only for lo vision not for blind despite the post being identified for blind. All India Confederation of the blind (AICB)has filed a public interest litigation and the matter came up for hering before the Hon’ble Division Bench comprising of The Hon’ble Chief Justice and Justice Mr. Jayant Nath, J on 18/01/2016. The Advocates for both LIC and UOI appeared and were served notice. After hearing our Advocate and LIC, the Hon’ble Division Bench was pleased to issue notice to bothLIC and UOI with directions to file their counter affidavit within 3 weeks. Although we pressed for an interim stay of the operation of the Advertisement, the Hon’ble Division Bench was of the view that as there is no danger and nothing is to happen as we are well before time ,there is no such requirement. As such, the matter was adjourned for 25.02.2016. we will apprise you the further developments.
