Hello mates? Let me share with you something that, I hope, many of you are going to find interesting and useful.
Blind and visually impaired students and teachers need to do a lot of scanning and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) of printed books. With the common flatbed scanners, putting the book face down on the scanner bed can lead to the book spine to get damaged; sometimes the page doesn't scan properly due to thickness of the book. Here's the link to a couple of page containing information about a scanning device that I think would be more suitable for this purpose. This device is called the Fujitsu's ScanSnap SV600. Manufacturer's pages: 1. http://www.fujitsu.com/global/products/computing/peripheral/scanners/scansnap/sv600/ 2. http://scanners.fcpa.fujitsu.com/scansnap11/features_sv600.html My google search page: https://www.google.com/search?q=Fujitsu+ScanSnap+SV600&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 A page with price info in Pakistan: http://www.symbios.pk/scansnap-sv600 Have anyone of you actually used this device? If so, do you findĀ this scanner to be any better for the job of scanning and OCR of, say, a 800-page book? I would be eagerly awaiting your feedback. Regards.
