What I 've experience, if a visually impaired person wants to enjoy the company of new group of sited persons he or she must have something to give to them. if we are somewhere dependent upon them, we also have to make them to depend upon us where they are lacking. then they will deffinitly come with you And also one should respond calmly and don't get hurt if they are asking cilly questions regarding your disability. Just try to creat jolly, funny and interactive environment while interacting with sited persons where they can themselves feel comfirtable to talk to you. if we will share and explain them about our capabilities, if they are unaware about that, it will definitly creat some interest to know about it. We have to get attached to them anyhow, if we want to interact with sighted persons and want to enjoy their company.
I am successfully doing it till now.

thanks
Jyoti Malik

Hello,
No need of worry. Just initiate by yourself to talk. If you are
plecent enough, others will definitely make friends with you.

Hi!

I myself used to find very difficult to interact with Sighted People
in the beginning but as time passed I became little comfortable
however sometime I too find difficult even now. How I over came this
problem , I spoke to few people who had the knowledge about Visually
Challenged, I asked little questions like why don’t sighted people
talk to me or what they expect from me how can I interact with them
and I found my answers of questions and rest I learnt through
experience remember it is learning process and there is no fix
procedure how you can exactly interact with them. One thing I
experienced is that, many Sighted People will enjoy your company if
person has good Mobility or they know this person is not completely
depended on them otherwise they feel we are burden to them, they say
things like “Isko leka Jana padega or isko drop karna padega kyoki ye
akhela ja Nahi sakhta”. “we will have to take him or we will have to
drop him/her because he/she can not go alone”. Please don’t feel bad
and please correct me if I am wrong and it would be nice if other
people can share their experience too at the end I just want to tell
you Sighted People too want to talk to us as much as we want to
interact with them but sometimes they don’t just know how to approach
us or how we would react to them if they talk to us this is what many
of my friends told me who were not talking to me in the beginning
ended up being my good friends at later stage.

Warm Regards,
Tilak.
