You will be having HDMI port in both laptop and the Television. It looks like a USB Port. The advantage of using HDMI is that it can also transmit/ carry audio signal in addition to video signal from your laptop to Television's speakers. A V.G.A Port is rectangle with curved edges or you can say oval. It have some tiney holes. This can transmit just the video signal and not audio signal. If you need audio then you need to plug O cable. HDMI is not reversible like USB C standard.
