Rules and Guidelines 1. The tournament time control is as follows: A minimum of 30 moves must be played in 60 minutes, with any remaining time being added to each succeeding hour. I don't like to talk about forfeits, so I hope none will be warranted. A forfeit will be issued if a player does not appear on Skype within 30 minutes of the scheduled time for the game, or if a player does not make a sincere attempt to schedule a game before the deadline for each round. If the player contacts me either by email, on Skype, or by calling me on my mobile phone and gives me a reason for the delay, I will do my best to arrange for the game to be played later. (my mobile with international code is +4369917455595, i use Skype, Whatsapp, Viber, Imo, and Fasetime,) Anyone who receives two forfeits in a tournament will be removed from the tournament but not from Skype_Chess. 2. All tournament games will be played on Skype. So, if you have not yet installed Skype, now is the time. There will be a conference call for the two players, the timekeeper, and any persons wishing to observe the game. Once the game begins, no one else will be allowed to join the call, so that the players can concentrate without any interruptions. Moves are to be announced in English, using, if possible, the international alphabet Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, and Hotel. use email [email protected] to arrange the games. 3. Once a legal move is clearly announced and copied by the opponent, it is official and cannot be changed. All moves in a tournament game will be made by using a chess set or your mind. Some of our members do play chess in their head. No computer program, such as WinBoard, may be used as a chess board. 4. prefferably all tournament games will be played if there is a timekeeper present. however if TK is not available, and one of the player is keeping time, in this case, both players must keep the score, this may help in case of dispute. all games must be played on skype. 5. No player will be penalized for postponing a scheduled tournament game. There may be a personal reason for the player. 6. No player will be penalized for not keeping a move log during a tournament game, if is TK is available. The move log of the timekeeper is official, and is required. It is optional whether or not the players want to keep track of their moves. however if no TK is available both must keep the score. 7. During a tournament game, the timekeeper is the assistant tournament director, and the timekeeper's decision in settling any misunderstandings during the game is final, unless the players wish to bring the problem to the tournament director after the game. The time keeper is also there to keep track of each player's elapsed time, record each move in the log as it is played, monitor the game by making the moves on the timekeeper's chess board, and alert players of any illegal moves. 8. Points bable win 10 draw 5 bye 3 loss and forfeit 0 TK 2(maximum 8) 9. Each round of the tournament will end on the date and at the time determined by the tournament director at the beginning of each round. The outcome of any games that have not been started by that deadline will be decided by the tournament director. the decision of tournament director is final.
