IIT-Kharagpur tech push to help visually impaired kids read Bangla
classics. KOLKATA: Children with blindness will soon be able to savour
classics of Bengali literature, thanks to a combined effort of three
top institutes of higher education: IIT-Kharagpur, Jadavpur University
(JU) and Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). The computer science and
technology department of IIT-Kgp has devised a software that is
helping render some of these evergreen texts into braille, the first
time this is being done with an Indian language. Source:
