oalaikumassalam! Just try this out: Open the open with dialog on that file (.txt I suppose, or whatever you want to open with notepad.) Click brows, in the folder list view, go to c:\windows\ (if your window has been installed in this drive), select notepad by pressing n recursively and click Ok button. Now, in the program tree view the selected program must be something similar to notepad.exe or notepad, if it is, check the check box 'Always use this program to open this type of file', and click Ok, you're done!
