Centre for Inclusive Education and Accessibility, Department of Education and Extension, Savitribai Phule Pune university is organizing National seminar on Workplace accessibility on 20th and 21th march 2017 for Sensitizing various stakeholders such as Diversity and inclusion professionals, HR professionals, Policy makers and Employers in government and corporates, Social entrepreneurs, Researchers etc about creation of accessible work culture for persons with disabilities. Background: Thousands of individuals with disabilities are being employed in government and corporate organizations on the basis of job reservation and equal opportunity employment policy. Not really on the basis of skills and abilities. Most of the Employees with disabilities are unhappy by the job assignment and workplace environment provided to them. Equal opportunity employers in government and corporate unable to identify suitable jobs assignments, appropriate assistive technologies for carrying out specific job and accessible environment for inclusion of specific type of individuals with disabilities. Potential and capabilities of qualified individuals with disabilities can be leverage by providing them suitable assistive technologies and barrier free environment at workplace. Accessible web services, Accessible content and documents, accessible built infrastructure, accessible work culture increases productivity of employees with disabilities. This seminar will discuss various issues of workplace accessibility, successful cases of work place accessibility and accommodation of persons with disabilities at the work place by creation of accessible environment. It will also focus on Suitable job identification, accessible recruitment, training, retention for specific type of individuals with disabilities as well as accessibility compliance for various services of organizations. Who can attend?
