For your information: Office 2007 by default has the 4 digit extension format. for example, by default word document files get saved in a format known as docx in office 2007. However those files will not open with Office 2003 or earlier versions. To solve this problem, Microsoft is making a file known as "FileFormatConverters.exe" available to users. after installing this software, one should be able to use files with docx extention in earlier office versions.
