Announcement of NFB Karnataka Excellence  Awards 2017-18.

Prathibha Award  and public felicitations 2017

 

Undersigned is glad to inform you that NFB Karnataka as ever invites
applications for "NFB Karnataka Excellence Award 2017"  and public
felicitation  from outstanding visually challenged individuals in different
areas/categories  

 

1. The categories of NFB Karnataka Excellence Award 2017 include: - Employee
(1), Self Employed (1), Arts/Culture/Sports (1) and Social Service (1) 

 

Description of awards in above mentioned categories   :- 

 

A. NFB Excellency Award in above mentioned 4 categories is intended for such
visually impaired person of the state who has made extraordinary performance
in their respective categories. 

The award   in each category carries cash or gifts of worth 10,000/- and
citation 

Definition of award in each category 

a. Employ - means award to a V.I. Employee either  working  in public or
private sector for his/her exemplary  position/performance and
achievements in professional carrier.  

b. Self Employed - means a V.I. person who is self employed in area of
services/trading/industry etc. and achieved an exemplary success in that
particular profession. 

c. Art, Culture & Sports - means award to a V.I. Person for his/her
extraordinary performance and exemplary achievements at National or
International level in area of Arts, culture & sports.

 

d. Social Service - means award to a V.I. person for his/her long and
remarkable voluntary service in any area of human life. 

 

 

2. NFB Prathibha Award to meritorious visually impaired students (4-
SSLC/PUC/Graduation/PG)

 

This award is intended for such meritorious students  who passed SSLC, PUC,
Graduation or Post Graduation in the year 2017 and secured highest
aggregated marks among their visually challenged course mates. Subject to
minimum secure - 90% in SSLC & PUC, 80% in Degree and 70% in post
graduation. 

The award carries Gift or  cash prize of worth Rs.11, 000/- in each
category. 

Final selection of the winners  under this category will be made on the
basis of the certificates/marks cards  received to this effect 

3. Public Felicitations 

a. Public Felicitation of most empowered visually challenged women (1):

This award is intended for such a visually challenged women of Karnataka who
made herself self sustained and established as a contributing member of the
society. Award caries a public felicitation and suitable token of
appreciation. 

b.   Public Felicitation of most senior visually impaired Men and women (02)
:- 

This award is intended to such a most senior blind men and women who are
above 65 years of age and   empowered him/herself in social and economic
spheres of life.  The award carries public felicitation and suitable token
of appreciation. 

 

 

General Rules and procedure for application and nomination to the above
mentioned awards and felicitations:-

 

1.-- All the awards are intended only for Karnataka residing visually
impaired individuals

2.--Application for each award must be accompanied by the copies of
disability certificate, photo identity card, address proof and age proof,
marks sheets of all passed public examinations and certifications of
performance and achievements in any sphere of life.  

3.--Application with all necessary documents must reach to the office of the
federation at above given address on and before 15th November 2017, the
application received after the prescribed date shall not be entertained.

4.--A selection committee under chairmanship of the president of  NFB
Karnataka  will scrutinize all the applications and take the final decision
to nominate the awardees for all above mentioned awards. Decision of the
committee in this regard will be final and binding to all.

5.--The awards will be presented to the nominees on the occasion of annual
function of the federation positively on 4th January 2018 at Bangalore. 

6.--Qualifying travel expense of the awardees and their escorts from outside
Bangalore will be reimbursed. 

7.--Appropriate lodging and boarding arrangement for awardees and their
escort from out of Bangalore shall be made by the federation/clarifications
