Hi Payal ma'am and Arijeet, I too had the same issue with my Dell Vostro and could solve it by changing my default sound controlar.
Here's how to do it: 1. Go to device manager and then sound controlars 2. Look for realtech and press application key on it 3. here choose properties and navigate to drivers tab by pressing control + tab 4. Here click on "update driver" and take the option which says "Browse my computer for available drivers" 5. Again don't actually browse for a folder, take the option which says "Choose from the list of available drivers" 6. Here choose Microsoft high definition device or just high definition device depending on your system 7. press enter on next button and follow the on-screen instructions. 8. Restart if required, your laptop should work fine. P.S : By above procedure we are using the genaric Windows driver instead of the manufacturor's one.
