The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act was passed unanimously in the winter session of the Parliament amidst much jubilation and cheer. We now wish to enter the implementation phase and understand the provisions of the Act and its interpretation.
To bring everyone on a common platform, National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People in partnership with Trinayani is organizing a free day long seminar on the RPWD Act with support from ONGC. DATE: Saturday, 10th of March 2018 TIME: 9 to 5 pm. ACCESSIBLE VENUE: Prabhodhan Thackarey Krida Sankul & Swimming Complex. Shahaji Raje Marg, Vishnu Prasad Society, Navpada, Vile Parle East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400057 (10 mins from Vile Parle East Station). We hope to have significant discussion on the salient features of the act and its implementation. In the seminar we want the participation and voice of the key demographic groups and stakeholders that this act was intended to benefit so that they can further understand, discuss, explain and debate about the Act. Registration for this seminar is FREE and on first come first serve basis for the first 70 participants. Meals, coffee, tea and snacks will be provided. Relevant materials pertaining to the Act and the Marathi translation of the RPWD Act will also be given. Everyone from and in Maharashtra is cordially invited.
