Friends, a friend of mine who is also a disabled in upper limbs and spinalcord problems work govt dept and income tax is deducted at source. My question is whether filing ITR is mandatory? For some reason, if the person specially the disabled one doesn't file what are the aftereffects? In this said person's case, although he has paid the correct tax, he has to take auditors' help to file ITR for which he has to spend atleast Rs 2000 or so. Which is a big burden on the disabled person despite paying full taxes. Are there any exemptions for such persons? Hope our learned friends will reply to this mail. Thanks and regards, Pranaya
