Hi there, first of all indeed Bluetooth has to be kept on, because the watch 
uses Bluetooth to connect, if you turn it off it will not connect.
Second of all indeed you can add a widget in your glancewhich will let you 
monitor your sleeping, and heart rate.
Regarding swimming mode, there is a button at the back, which is for 
waterproofing.
