Train services to and from Chennai will get affected on April 13, April 14 and April 15 owing to major engineering works taken up for the commissioning of the Arakkonam-Thakkolam detour line. According to Times of India, the Southern Railways had laid a detour line between Thakkolam and Arakkonam in January but the work on linking this line with the Arakkonam-Katpadi line was pending. The Southern Railways needs to turn off the electricity to do this work. The work that began on April 5 is expected to be completed on April 15.
