stray dogs live in groups and it is possible that they may attack on guide
dog and that time it will become very dificult to save your guide dog from
stray dogs.

like you I also face same problem in college while walking with my
stick alone. while walking I stepd on some dogs, fortunetly none bite
me so far. however, I learned to deal with this problem through my own
experience. firstly, whenever you want to move, start hitting stick
bit harder to produce noice, trust me dogs are very alert and recover
from their sleap and may give you side. if this does not work, please
use guide dog to navigate, I know this is not a privelant practice in
India, in case if you start using them, it will help you.
