Hi all, I also casted my vote yesturday, I'd like to share some of my thoughts pertaining to the above discussed problem of numbers on the EVM machine. As far as I have observed, in our constituency, of Hubli and Dharwad of Karnataka, They had taken this issue seriously in the lokasabha election of 2013, or near to that. When there were Two EVMS, That is, the second EVM consisting of the candidate names above sixteen, they had pasted a thick cardsheet, consisting of numbers 17 and above, over the Brail numbers in the voting machine. There were no confusions at that time at all, they were completely readable. However this time, they have changed the process a bit. Instead of Pasting the entire list of numbers or the whole strip, on to the second EVM, They had just pasted a small piece of paper over the two EVMS, at the right top corner, which read, EVM I, EVM II. This helped a bit while judjing which button should be pressed or, where is the exact button for the candidate I wished to vote. So, one final thought, As, 1, to 16 numbers are completely built into the EVM, we cannot ask anything to be changed there, let it be. When there are two EVMS, or, candidates above 17, in the second machine, the responsible people should take much interest and care in pasting the additional strip of paper consisting brail numbers 17 and above, over the original numbers. Which should not be confusing. One good news was, when asked, in the poling booth, the officials handed me a braille printout, which consisted the candidates name and number, which was really helpful. Thank you.
