Dear Vamshi: I truely appreciate your feedback. If you look at disability as a physical condition and the kind of challenges it poses, it may not seem like anyone in their right mind could celebrate or be proud of their disability. But that’s why I said we should look at it as a social identity. We shouldn’t be shy talking about it. Unless we come forward and talk about it in a positive way, we may find it harder to achieve inclusion and win acceptability. This may not necessarily be agreeable to everyone, but this is something we should debate in a healthier way.
