Both Verbal and non-verbal communications skills are a key to success of an individual. As a visually challenged individual Building connections, interacting with people in a new setup and especially amongst new groups is often difficult for most individuals. . By improving your verbal communication skills you will quickly connect and build rapport, earn respect, gain influence, and become more likable and accepted. Being clear, being to the point, focusing on your body language and speaking with utmost confidence are just a few things that are important for every day communication. Have you ever thought about why a person who isn’t telling the whole truth may clear their throat, stammer or change their pitch as if to try and sway your attention away from their lie or in order to stall so they may have time to think up a valid answer or plausible explanation? Additionally, foot tapping or bouncing, blushing, putting our hand to our face, turning away or raising our shoulders may all be indicators that we are uncomfortable with the conversation because we are not telling the truth. Non-verbal communication, also known as body language, often supersede spoken language during communication. The shrug of the shoulder, subtle facial expressions, and other seemingly minor visual cues and clues sometimes are worth more than even a thousand words.
