Hi, these board games are already accessible for blind and low vision as
per my information. Specially for blind and low vision people, there is a
wooden board both of ludo and snake and ladders along with wooden dice with
each other. Moreover, the coins of these games are also made with wood. In
the snake and ladder board, all numbers are appeared with a hole, where we
can place our coins during playing the game, and all numbers are also wrote
in Braille as well as sighted so both blind and sighted persons can enjoy
the game at the same time.
The ludo board is completely filled with holes so we can start, play and
finish are game conviniently. Where we have to start the game and place our
coin into 1st stage, there is wrote "s" word in Braille so any blind person
can understand that where to start the game from.
The dioces of both games are almost same and we can use same dice in both
games. We have to press the button of the dice with our right hand and move
the wheel with our left hand inside the dyce. There are are appeared
tactile dots on every side of the wheel, 1 to 6. The wheel stops on which
number that is is our number during our turn in the game.
These both board games are available for sale at Saksham, dehradun and
other institutions of the country. I am also being used these games and
enjoy them very much in accessible way. However, these boards are heavy due
to their wooden made but these are accessible for blind and low vision as
well as sighted.
Hope I am successful to explain all about the accessible board games.
Regards, Aman Preet Singh.
