Hi Fayaz,
In my case, we do declare at the beginning of the financial year and I also 
claim Rs. 75000 as disability deduction.  During the tax submission one has 
to provide sets of documents and for disability exemptions; all you have to 
do is just to produce disability certificate.
These documents are generally given to Hr and payroll.

    Hi friends,

Could not follow some important threads on the tax exemption that was on the 
list of late so have a few questions. Now to avail this tax exemption of up 
to RS 75000 whom should I approach. I understand a certificate needs to be 
obtained to get this exemption who is the authority to issue this 
certificate to me. The next question relates to different components of 
salary does this exemption hold good to the entire salary as a whole or only 
few components of the compensation plan.

Please list out the steps I will need to take to claim the exemption and 
also mention the authority at the state level who can give me the 
certificate to claim an exemption from professional tax. Finally is this 
information available any ware; also provide the source.
