Hello friends!

As you are aware, the committee on rights of Persons with Disabilities in
their concluding observations on India's initial/country report has raised a
host of concerns which, inter alia, include use of terminology such as
divyang, ETC., and also non-inclusion of disability as a prohibited ground
of discrimination under Article 15 of our Constitution. Of late, my
attention was drawn to a statement made by a non-official member of the
official delegation of India on these concerns in Geneva during the
deliberations of the Crpd on India; and the said statement was made towing
the official line taken by the govt. of India. In response to requests from
friends, I have recorded and posted an audio clip on my youtube channel
which gives my considered perspective and analysis of that statement.

I am sharing the corresponding link below hoping that you will find it
interesting and also promising that a Hindi version will also be uploaded as
soon as possible.
