Greetings from Blind Graduates Forum of India (BGFI)!
People with blindness also enjoy movie through the dialogues, however
the visuals or the actions of the movie are not very clear unless
described by someone. Now visually impaired people also can enjoy
watching movies to its fullest. With development of digital
technology, it has become possible to hear an audio commentary of what
is going on the screen. A blind person can here this commentary with
help of a mobile phone. This is known as Audio description. In an
audio described movie, the actions or visuals of the entire film are
simultaneously explained by a professional in between the dialogues.
Salman Khan’s latest movie Dabang 3 will be available soon with Audio
Description for people who cannot see.
As a part of Blind Graduates Forum of India’s (BGFI), initiative to
make entertainment more accessible to blind in India, BGFI team met
Salman Khan Films in Mumbai and requested that their upcoming movie
Dabang 3 be released with Audio Description. SKF was very receptive of
the idea and finally the movie will be releasing tomorrow with Audio
description facility.
We will be soon organizing an inclusive screening of the movie in
Mumbai along with XL Cinemas for all people with and without
disability. The date and other details of the screening will be shared
soon.
We request you to experience this change and share your feedback. To
watch the movie with Audio Description, download XL Cinema app on
mobile available both on IOS and Android platforms free of cost. On
downloading the application, download the audio ticket of Dabang 3 and
play it with earphones when the movie starts in the theatre. The
Audio Description track will be played in the headphone of user
simultaneously with movie on the screen.
