To: nabhelpline <[email protected]>

Greetings from NAB Helpline
National Association for the blind, Sec-5, RK Puram New Delhi

WORKSHOP ON THE ADVANCE USE OF IOS, ANDROID DEVICES and Financial Inclusion

Date and time of the workshop: Saturday, 28th December 2019, 09:30 – 14:00

Participants: up to 30 Blind and low vision persons with knowledge
and skill of using computers and smart phones

Objectives of the workshop: This workshop aims to empower the visually
impaired to use the IOS and Android devices in their day to day
routine and to use various available applications to make their life
independent. It also aims on making visually impaired aware of
available modes of financial transactions.

Background

During the last several years initiatives have been taken by banks,
organizations for the blind and individuals to make the banking
services accessible to persons with blindness or low vision. Although
much needs to be done to make all the services totally accessible,
visually impaired persons can take advantage of the available
accessibility to make their lives much easier and comfortable. Even
now visually impaired persons can go to talking ATMs to withdraw cash
independently, use online banking to pay utility bills, transfer
funds, recharge mobile phone and much more. It has been observed that
majority of visually impaired persons are either not aware of the
accessibility of these services or they have some apprehensions in
using such facilities.

National Association for the blind (Delhi) is pleased to announce the
workshop on advance use of IOS and android devices and financial
inclusion on Saturday, 28th December 2019 from 09:30 onwards.
