I just heard that the supreme court of India pronounced a judgment on 14th January, 2020 in a similar case of reservation in promotion in the matter of Sidaraju Vs. the state of Karnatka. So far, I have not been able to lay my hands on that judgment if any such judgment exists. Maybe, our practicing advocate friends who are part of this list can throw some light on the issue to set the confusion at rest. I too hope to be able to get more information regarding the matter, maybe by next week or so. Currently, I am out of the country for a while.
