As per my own experience, ABBYY fine reader, kurzweil and other accessibility softwares are memory intensive programmes. If we have good processor and ssd harddisk, we dont face the issue of slow processing hanging the machine. I am using i7 processor since last 3years and never faced any issue of hanging and freezing the system. I am using lenovo thinkpad x270 with 256 ssd, i7 processor, 8gb ram and win 10 64bit. Its an expensive machine though, around 1.25l.
