Hi, I don't use JAWS but as the post is unanswered and I have some experience with WhatsApp Web using NVDA I will like to share my experience.
WhatsApp web cannot be called totally accessible by any means irrespective of the screen reader used as the login interface seems quite inaccessible to me. How to: 1. On the mobile whatsApp application go to the 'more options' menu, it is on the top right hand side and within the first few elements one encounters with talkback. 2. In the go to second option 'whatsapp web', on the screen the url will be announced for the website. You will get the instructions to scan the QR on website homepage and there is an 'ok' button post activating which you can scan. 3. Most inaccessible part, locate the QR on the website and scan it with your phone. By my experience it appears somewhere in the part of screen which is 60% from the left side and 20% from right and vertically in middle. Thankfully the code is large enough and quickly scanned. Once done you get signed in. The checkbox 'keep me signed in' is normally checked and no need to toggle it unless you want to. You will remain signed in mostly till next restart. The messages will be delivered and recieved based on the condition of your phone's internet, as long as it as on network you can communicate. Website link: https://web.whatsapp.com/ Calling feature is not available on web version. I am easily able to navigate between chats menu, status menu, different chats and different messages. Writing a message part is accessible as well. NVDA does not announce an incoming message while I am navigating through that personal/group chat or typing a message in. This experience might differ with JAWS. On the chats menu page I can take an action on a chat like pinning to top, muting, etc after a right arrow click. But when I open a chat and move between the messages, I cannot take an action on most of the messages (only the once with attachments get actionable sometimes), by actions i mean reply, forward, share, etc. This should differ with JAWS as the announcement suggests an action on right arrow click. Have a try and please do post back your experience.
