I notice a Google TTS update yesterday (updates set to auto-install). However, let me repeat that English UK was speaking Emojis even before this update as mentioned in one of the trail emails. I too had reported to Google TTS developers but haven’t seen any such response as you. I considered it a trouble with English US voice after discovering that Emojis were working with English UK and it came out to be a TTS bug. Good that the TTS developers identified it and fixed it.
