Webinar on direction of Bombay high court to BMC to pay full salary of
visually impaired employees
Blind bankers of India in collaboration with NAB India brings enlightening
webinar on Sunday, November 22nd at 03:00 PM.

In this webinar representatives from NAB India will discuss about their
intervention in the matter of deduction of salaries of 268 visually
impaired employees of the Brihanmumbai Municipal corporation (BMC) and
about the recent order of Bombay high court directing the civic body to pay
the full salaries and said “Denying benefits during the pandemic was
‘illegal’.”.

About eminent speakers of the webinar;

1.       Mr. Satya Kumar Singh
He is from the state of Utter Pradesh and at present he is the general
secretary of NAB India. he completed his Post graduation in the year of
1987. After completing his education, he served in prominent positions in
different organisations working for visually impaired. He has been
associated with various organisations such as Manav Akansha, Vividha,
Rehabilitation society of visually impaired in various capacities including
serving as president, managing director and financial adviser.

2.       Mr. Suhas Vasant Karnik
He got retired from Bank of India in 2016 as senior manager. After his
retirement He joined Samarthanam Trust for Disabled in the capacity of
Center Head of livelihood resource center and worked their till September
2018. He is associated with the welfare of blind since 1979 and has served
various organisations in many capacities some of these are Hony. Secretary,
NAB India, President, BPA Mumbai, Vice President, Western Zone of All India
Chess Federation for the Blind, Member of Service Civil International,
Member of National Committee of Disability Rights Group of India and Member
of State Advisory Board on Disability of Maharashtra. He has also attended
a number of international conferences related to disability. He is a
national award winner and received award from former president of India Dr.
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in 2004 under the category of Best employee.

3. Dr. Vimal Kumar Dengla: An inspiring personality with Never say die
attitude, Dr. Vimal Kumar Dengla has completed his PHD from Ram Manohar
Lohia Avath university Faizabad, in 2009. He joined NAB, P. & N. Merwanji
Rehabilitation center for the Blind, at Mount Abu, as Principal in 2003. He
played a significant role in reviving the centre. He has received many
awards for his work such as, Best disabled employee 2004-05 by Rajasthan
govt, outstanding secretary award 2011 etc. Presently he is working as Gen.
secretary NAB Rajasthan state branch and Hon. Secretary NAB India heading
various departments viz. Braille press, Talking book centre, IDBI Ambarnath
etc.

4.       Mrs. PALLAVI P. KADAM
She is the Executive Director of NAB India. She joined NAB India in 1993
and later on has served the organisation in different roles including
Employment Officer, Sr. Employment Officer, and Assistant Director. She has
also worked in the area of advocacy and empowerment of blind women. She is
a recipient of Late (Mrs.) Piloo D. Khambatta Memorial Award for maximum
placements in the year 2003.

5.       MR. UDAY PRAKASH WARUNJIKAR
He completed his LL.M in 1996 from Mumbai university. He is practising in
Bombay high court and has successfully handled around 11700 cases in last
22 years. He has also successfully taken up various public interest
litigations related to disability, environment, air, noise and water
pollution. He has authored 2 Marathi books namely Court Awaits Justice, and
Social Welbeing and Judiciary. He has also contributed to various books. He
has served as Joint General Secretary of Bar Association of India, Elected
Member of Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa etc. He was the Founder Member
of Consumer Court Association, Maharashtra (India)..
