Technically it is accessible but advanced features like equations aren't that well-supported with voice over. Also, voice over has a lot of layered keystrokes which makes it hard to remember (3 key presses required for a lot of tasks). I have many visually impaired colleagues who had to switch back to windows + jaws because voice over wasn't that well-suited to a professional setup.
