Hi all, The Blind Graduates Forum of India had organised a session on the Integrated Ombudsman Scheme 2021 on 5th December 2021, conducted by RBI officials. We plan to write to the RBI with the list of specific challenges faced by blind persons in performing banking transactions and accessing variegated banking services in India. In this end would be grateful if you could share your experiences in respect of the following: 1. Denial of any banking services or facilities only on account of your disability; 2. difficulty in availing various banking facilities such as opening of bank account, availing credit facilities and different financial and investment products offered by banks, and availing any service or facility ordinarily offered by the bank to its customers; 3. challenges in accessing online portals and applications of banks; 4. challenges/ unfavorable experiences at the branch counters or otherwise wile interfacing with bank officers and employees; 5. any other difficulty, discrimination or unfavorable experience not covered above.
