Let your brother go ahead with his interests. He may choose a field that is inaccessible currently, but accessibility, with obvious efforts, is quite creatable. A few years ago, I was suggested to not learn Persian; it was proposed that my disability would make such learning impossible. But, as it turns out, it is challenging but very much possible, and I am currently on the second level -- hopefully towards a career in historical research.
