National Association for the Blind (NAB) Delhi is organising a “Self Defense Training Program” for women with disabilities in collaboration with American India Foundation (AIF).
Women with disabilities face up to 10 times more violence than those without disabilities (according to a global study conducted by UNFPA). This is primarily because of their intersectional disadvantaged position in the society and vulnerability that comes with limited communication and/or mobility. This self-defense training program aims at empowering women with disabilities so that they can learn to protect themselves in dangerous situations and avoid physical/sexual abuse. The training is available both online and offline. It is completely free of cost and can be availed by women with disabilities who belong to the age group of 16 to 35 years old. The last date to apply is 30th July 2022.
