Also a good listening habit. I started listening to BBC for example in my eighth grade. It may sound a bit monotonous, but could hardly understand anything in the beginning and it continued for few years. But It gradually begun to show the result by the time I got to my tenth grade. I would like to emphasize the fact that catching short wave frequency was not at all easy in those days. But the present generation is far more blessed and they have many other ways to listen to such radio stations.

Also, "read read and read (anything from fiction to news and whatever else you can lay your hands on)"...to add to what geetha says :) reading good english improves vocabulary and grammar and you find out about different ways of saying the same thing (I am sure I knew a single word for this). -Manish -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Geetha Shamanna Sent: Sunday, February 10, 2008 10:29 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [AI] How do I increase my fluency in spoken english? Hi Imran, The best way to improve your spoken English is to speak the language as much as possible. Try speaking it at college with friends whenever possible. There is no shortcut to improving one's English; just speak, speak, speak.
