CHENNAI: A 43-year-old man, who is the head of a welfare association
for the differently abled, was arrested for cheating nearly 150 people
by promising houses and collecting ₹13 lakh from them at Thiruvottiyur
on Monday.
Anandakumar, of Ernavur, had collected a sum of ₹13 lakh on the
promise of providing houses under the TN Urban Habitat Development
Board. He also handed over fake order copies to nearly 150 people.
After the disabled people lodged a complaint police booked Anandakumar
on charges of cheating and criminal breach of trust. tnn
