Dear All Awareness on accessibility and assistive technology is one of the important pillars of the accessibility journey for an organisation.
In the services sector like banking this becomes more important as the industry is ever changing to meet diverse customer needs through digital means. The Union Learning Academy, Digital Transformation conducted an awareness session titled “Accessibility Matters” for app/website developers, testers and related officials on 20th March 2023. The session was conducted by Saidarshan Bhagat from C-DAC Mumbai who is an expert in the domain and was part of the committee on BIS Standards on ICT accessibility. This special capacity building program was supported by the Team Union Access, Union Bank’s flagship initiative on digital accessibility improvements. The leadership at Union Bank of India is embedding accessibility and inclusivity in its core philosophy. "Accessibility by design is the best practice" a key concept shared by Shri Anil Kuril, Chief Technical Officer, Union Bank of India in his keynote speech during valedictory session.
