Dear Mission Accessibility Team, My name is Omkar Pawaskar, and I am a visually impaired individual who holds a bank account in Kotak Mahindra Bank. I am writing to bring to your attention an accessibility issue that I am facing while using the Kotak Mahindra mobile banking app with the Google TalkBack screen reader. Unfortunately, the app is highly inaccessible for visually impaired users like me. I am not able to press any buttons in the app, including the account balance button, using the Google TalkBack screen reader. Moreover, I cannot swipe or navigate left to right or right to left with the Google TalkBack to move from one button to another. This makes it impossible for me to use any feature of the app, while sighted individuals can use all its features without any difficulty. Additionally, I cannot hold focus on any button to activate it, such as the profile menu button, making it challenging for me to navigate through the app. This situation is highly frustrating and limits my access to essential banking services. I am writing to your organization because I am aware that Mission Accessibility works towards making technology accessible for persons with disabilities. I would request your team to look into this issue and collaborate with Kotak Mahindra Bank to make the mobile banking app more accessible for visually impaired customers like me. The app should be designed to work efficiently with screen readers like Google TalkBack, providing equal access to its services to all its customers. Thank you for taking the time to read my email.
