Dear all,

I am informing you of a possible solution for accessible CCTV camera system.

Recently when I visited the CSUN Conference in USA, I saw presentation of Blink
cameras by Amazon.

The brand Blink is owned by Amazon and it has many camera based products for
surveillance. This company is not officially launched in India.

However, I bought two video door bells and brought it to India as I was
highly impressed by their video description feature.

I have tested the video door bell in India. If you configure it on iPhone,
when someone rings the door bell you are able to get a description of the
people at the door with Voiceover. You can also talk to the person at door just
like any other similar video doorbell.

You can also get some descriptions of saved videos from the video door bell
device. The Voiceover descriptions are similar to the descriptions you get for
photos on iPhone

Their Blink app is fully accessible. However, since it is not officially
launched, their warranty and cloud storage service is not available here.

If anyone is really interested, you can get them from USA and instal here. The
door bell is costing only Rs. 4000. This website is offering it here in
India.

Blink have other cameras also. Note that video description is not available on
Android it will work well with Android devices but without video descriptions.

One can visit the Beyond Eyes centre in NAB Delhi to see this device physically.

Thanks,

Prashant

Subject: RE: [AI] security system features for us.

Mamta,

1. I have taken services from a company called vprotect. They provide alarm
monitoring and do supply cameras I believe. The android and IOS apps are
usable. I believe Airtel also provides such a service.

2. I have my own CCTV camera setup using IP cameras. However, there is no
description of activities. As of this writing, I am unaware of any system that
gives this off the shelf. You can pull something together but that will need
programming expertise. I have some ideas around this so let me know if you are
interested.

3. I do have a camera door phone I believe from panasonic. This device has push
buttons and is usable.

You need to be careful with systems that allow you to monitor your house
remotely because they usually use their own clouds which may not be as secure
as you think.

However, with any security system, the first question is to ask, what are the
threats and weaknesses in my existing setup? E.G., does your house have
balconies that could be accessed by an outsider?

Are you worried about theft?

Pranav
